Product Introduction

Melamine pyrophosphate, also known as melamine pyrophosphate, is a nitrogen- and phosphorus-containing flame retardant. The product is a white, fine powder. Its outstanding advantages are good thermal stability, insolubility in water, low smoke generation, and non-hygroscopicity.
Its flame retardant principle: MPP has excellent high-temperature processing performance. When it decomposes by endothermic decomposition, it generates a foamy coke layer, which covers the surface of the burning material and plays a role in isolating the air. The vaporized melamine provides an inert gas source, which can dilute the concentration of oxygen and combustible gases generated by the decomposition of polymers, thereby achieving the purpose of flame retardancy.
Melamine pyrophosphate (MPP) is a non-toxic flame retardant, but because it is a very fine powder, pay attention to protective measures during processing.

Scope of application

Melamine pyrophosphate application range

Expandable environmentally friendly flame retardant for thermoplastics, thermosetting plastics, silicone rubber, rubber and other products;

Used in high-demand intumescent flame retardant systems, intumescent fire retardant coatings, and acrylic emulsions;

The reference addition amount is: 25-30% can reach UL94-V0 flame retardant standard.
